Every Sunday in Bogota, hundreds of kilometers of city streets are shut down so people can bike, skate, and jog without worrying about cars! These photos are from this past Sunday on 26th Street near my house.

That's exactly what I thought! Also, the bike lanes here (Cicloruta) are paved into the sidewalks - see photo of the bike figure spraypainted on the lane. It's safer for everyone and encourages people to commute to work. You see a lot of people wearing gas masks because of the bad air, though...
